Awesome! Thank you so much for the fix - I was getting this same “The image names xyz could not be moved to the recycle bin” message on my Windows 7 setup in Lightroom 2.6

YOU ARE A LIFESAVER SAM! thanks dude

Ok all...this just started happening to me and I figured out the problem. FYI..I am running Vista. Hope this helps someone down the line..very frustrating. Here we go:

- My computer>Right click on the external drive that's giving you a probem.

- Click on the "Security" tab

- Select the User group that applies to you. (In my case it is "Everyone")

- Click on "Edit" to change permissions.

- Click the first box in the "Allow" column. (This should put check marks all the way down the column.)

- Click on "Apply"

It will go through and set permissions for all the folders on the drive.

Bada Bing, Bada Boom...forgetta bout it!

I will be taking the Lightroom ACE exam. To me it shows that someone took the next step in presenting themselves as serious about their business.

Some common things I hear about such things are:
• oh it doesn't matter
• it's only a silly test
• it's for the showoffs
• it's snobbish

I think those people are simply jealous that they don't have the energy or time or will to go out and present themselves the best that they can.

Hi Aidan!

It has never happened to me, so I can't really help you, but I've found that at least one more man got similar problem as you:

http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.3bc45676/1

He received same error when he tried to delete NEF files from Lightroom. I think you should check this forum and report them that you have similar problem, may be they could help you.

I have Lightroom 1.1 and Windows Vista. When I press Delete, it offers me the two choices. I can successfully remove the photo from the Lightroom, but I cannot delete it from the disk. It gives me the following error message: "The image names xyz could not be moved to the recycle bin". It would be great to receive advice on how to solve this! Thank you.

I'm hoping that sometime soon we see Search Folders or Smart Collections. i want to define a Collection as a search and have it automatically populated (think iTunes smart playlists).
